March Boxy Charm Review

I love a good subscription box. The excitement of getting a package delivered, full of mysterious goodies, is like Christmas morning…for adults.

I have had many different subscriptions in the past. Snack boxes featuring different countries (maybe I’ll get this one again and review it for you), healthy snack boxes, trailmix boxes – I’m sure you’re seeing a trend here lol. Then, recently (as in last fall), I branched over into the world of beauty subscription boxes. I currently have an Ipsy subscription, am waiting on my first fabfitfun box, and I have this one here that I’m going to share…Boxy Charm.

Boxy Charm costs about $27/month, and you get products valuing at least $125 total. It’s a really great deal, especially since many of my boxes have exceeded that value by $50 – $100.

The box I’m sharing with you is my sixth box. Typically, near the beginning of the month, you can to choose one item from 3 – 4 options that will be in your box – aka – subscriber’s choice. I love this feature, but I always forget what I chose. lol.

As you can see, the box comes with five items. There is usually also a card that explains each item and its cost, but that seems to be missing this month. I looked everything up on their website, and the prices are located there, so I have them for you anyways. πŸ™‚

Items and Price:

  • Hank & Henry Living in Color Pallete $27
  • Appeal Cosmetic Ultra Creme Lipstick in color “Exposed” $21
  • Becca Lipliner in color “Mood” $22
  • Farmacy Very Cherry Clean Cleansing Balm $
  • Murad Hyrdo-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture for Eyes $70 (This was the item I picked)

In total, the items are worth $174. That’s a steal!!

Now, the big question is, do I like these things and are they worth it? Well, yes and no. This box was a bit disappointing to me for a few reasons. 1. I have a large supply of eyeshadow palletes from past boxes, and not enough eyelids to apply it all to. The last thing I need is another pallete. This particular one also has a strange spray paint smell to it and that makes me nervous to use it. AND – it looks cheap. OK, so I hate the pallete.

I’m also not too please with the lipstick or lipliner, but that’s because I don’t wear the stuff that often. I also have this lipstick shade in from two other brands from other boxes. Maybe the universe is trying to tell me something. I don’t know.

What I DO love is the Murad lotion. Obviously I’d like this, as I chose the item, but I’m glad to have it. I’m nearly out of my current eye cream, which cost me $15 for a tiny pot of it, so this larger pot that I paid way less for is going to come in handy real soon. Also, having a good eye cream is a must! I’m also excited to try the cleansing balm. It smells so good! The smell reminds me of something from my childhood, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. I have a small cleansing balm I received from Ipsy, and I really enjoy it, so I’m expecting I’ll love this one just as much, maybe more with that scent. Cleansing balms are great because they are able to take off stubborn eye makeup that my regular cleanser struggles with. Plus, they are a solid. WAY easier to travel with.

Overall, this is not my favorite box from Boxy Charm, but if you want to see some of my past ones that I did enjoy, I have box reveals/reviews on my Youtube channel. You can find the link at the top of my page. I’m also thinking of pooling together my most favorite items from all six boxes and share those with you. I’ve received A LOT of quality items from Boxy Charm, things that I use almost daily. Sometimes, you just get a bad item or two. Keep your eyes open for that post if you’re interested in that, and if you have any subscription boxes you think I should try, let me know in the comments.
