DIY Wall Decor

About a month ago I made over my bathroom. You can see that process here -Bathroom Makeover-. Spoiler, it turned out AMAZING!!

Well, part of the makeover involved a DIY that I know you’ll be interested in. It started when I saw this beautiful hanging “art” made out of eucalyptus and other greenery on Etsy. Now I’m all for small businesses, shoot – I have a couple myself, but this thing cost over $100 and I wasn’t having that.

For less than $25, I created my own version of that decor piece, and to help you save some $$$, I thought I’d share how I did it. Check out the video below.

Now, if you’re wondering how I got it on the wall, well I’ll tell you. First of all, so why you like best. My first thought was to hang it with some twine tied to both ends. After some though, I decided that might look weird with where on the wall I was hanging it. I ended up using two c-hooks. I used 1” c-hooks for my 1/2” dowel. I simply hand screwed the hooks into the wall and then slipped the dowel into the “c” part of the hook. Viola! Hanging art!

Now it’s your turn! Be sure to tag me on Instagram @emburr with your version of this wall decor. I’d love to see what you come up with. PS: I still think eucalyptus would look great on this. It’s finally in stock at my Trader Joe’s, I just can’t be bothered to alter the piece I’ve already made.
